What Borknagar would sound like in sampler instruments.

LOOK TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE FOR AN UPDATE.

Well... I was just messing around and decided to cover the beginning of
Ascension of our Fathers... WITH SAMPLER INSTRUMENTS! Now, I know it's short but I didn't care to remake the WHOLE SONG. Also, it could have been fixed up to sound a lot better but I didn't care much to do that either, as you can just listen to the original song. I just thought it might be curious to hear this, as there is only one Bork MIDI on the whole internet (colossus), and not only is it rendered in horrible standard MIDI instruments but the riffs are also wrong.

ENJOY! :headbang:

It's called "Ascension Cover"

The one thing that may be wrong is some of the picked electric guitar part that pervades the beginning of the song. Some of the notes are really hard to pick up and so I did my best.

I made it in Logic Platinum 5.5.0, using some free sampler instruments and some I bought. If you want to hear some more metal made entirely with sampler instruments (but sounds better than the above sample, as it is material made from scratch and sequenced accordingly), you can check out my music at www.myspace.com/hauntedera .
Samples only though.

Possibly, just for fun. If I do make more, I'll try and make them better than this one too. But don't expect full songs, just small bits, 30 seconds to a minute each, maybe longer on occasion.

Listened to some of your original tune samples. You've got some good ideas going there - keep it up and break a leg. :kickass:

Got any leads for where I can grab some decent drum sounds? I'm running Sony's Acid Music Studio for drum track programming (tired of General MIDI and FM synthesizer modulation) and the original software only has limited sounds and I can't find the Acid sample CDs anywhere in my county, especially for drums!

Thanks guys! I think I might do a small part of colossus next.

Thank you for taking the time to check'em out... but, by the way, I have a full song up now at www.myspace.com/hauntedera .
If you want to hear it in full quality, go here: http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=37412 . It's called "Out of the Darkness." All the songs are made on computer!

Check out this thread where I've answered this question: http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=235336

Okay, well, I know this isn't an Emperor thread, but I've decided I'm going to do an orchestral version of "An Elegy of Icaros" from IX Equilibrium!!! (The best song on the album in my opinion). I've started on the already-orchestral intro, but I have some better sounding orchestral samplers.

This should turn out pretty sweet... If Inno a Satana gets remade into an orchestral version, why can't other Emperor songs have the same done?

IT WILL BE QUITE AN UNDERTAKING!

UPDATE: Here you can find a sample of the new orchestral version of "An Elegy of Icaros" !
