Gavin: Sorry for being a retard but just one more thing. So this rackgear is a computer in which you have the sounds and patches or what? and if I understand you can play as many sounds as you have them in your rackgear.
Rack gear is basically the internals of a keyboard that you need to plug into.
I'm, a guitarist but i do know Korg make a rackmount triton that you jam your controller into and you get all the sounds/patches/editability of a triton but with your smallass midi controller. What seems to the the point of rackmount keyboards is you can run several synths/patches in series to mix/match sounds. The added bonus of using a midi controller is you can also plug into an analog synth and create some fucked up sounds
Does anyone who is more experienced in this wanna correct/take over cause i'm sure a key player can answer better than i can.. I just know this from having a technically proficient keyboard player in my band that we've discussed gear many times and having another good friend who tears it up on keys too.
