What can bands do extra for their fans?

cool stuff with albums is fine, but I prefer that the music be good
And Japanese bonus tracks (aka songs that aren't very good) should be free for download off the band's website
After concerts, they should hang around, sign shit, say wussup to the fans, and whatnot. I'm looking at you, Dave Mustaine (but not at Shawn Drover, who was cool enough to take photos and sign shit)

This is probably not a good idea, but I think that if while the roadies were setting up some of the band members would just come out and hang out with the fans, it would be cool. It's really boring staring at an amp for 30 minutes waiting for a show. They could just come out, do some stand up, talk about the news, the new album, a movie, whatever. Anything to alleviate the boredom.

And I totally think band's should let fans have input on setlists. Input, that is, not total control.

All I really want from bands is good music, them to tour from time to time and maybe shirts that don't look gay as shit.

I disagree and think that some excellent stuff has come out in a very limited edition...case in point pretty much all of Die Toten Kehren Wieder Mit Dem Wind's albums.
Which is exactly why there should be more copies made available. I will most likely never hear any of the stuff because I will not overpay for rare releases, unless it's something like the first few self-released Leviathan cassettes. I can understand when budget constraints lead to limited quantity self-releases. When you are signed to a label, and it's your fourth full-length, it's pretty gay to only make 50 copies. 500-1000 is acceptable for most underground bands, and I can't imagine it is that much more costly to make 500 than say, 100.

Not everyone has enough money or desire to let their art be heard by people other than those who are in tune with it. I don't see what's not respectable about that.
