Just curious. I know some are better than others. And I also know that some have different defrag types (like O&O) so lets hear what you use! I've currently been using the defrag in my TuneUp Utilities using the thorough defrag option.
Slight hi jack:
For guys running O&O, is the trial version of their defrag just the same as their full version but it has a time period before you need to delete it, or is it a less featured version of their full version?
It doesn't see to say anywhere on their site what the deal is
Auslogic Disk Defrag was the best on many comparisons back 1 or 2 years ago, so I use it quite always.
And the number 1 quality it has is that it's damn fast. And it seems to work well, my computer has never been slow since the beginning.
Also, I use CCleaner all the time.
My combo :
- Auslogics Disk defrag
- CCleaner for files AND registry
- Auslogics Registry Cleaner (won't find the same errors as ccleaner all the time)
- Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware
My brother's an IT guy for the Borgata in Atlantic City ,and he says they use CCleaner on everything... as far as defrag , I just use the standard Windows Defrag , I didn't even know others existed? Why would one be better than others?
I use McAfee Total Protection for anti virus / spyware
well as far as antivirus goes, you shouldn't be using your recording computer for anything but that to eliminate the chance of any viruses but i know that's not always a luxury, best way to get rid of viruses for free though (and i've found this to work even better than my kaspersky) is by the process outlined here: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407
