What do you do?

I run the guitar department at my families Musical Instrument store which is great fun. I also teach private guitar lessons, I've got about 10 or so students, mostly beginners. I was studying Classical Guitar at the Conservatorium here last year, but I finished my Diploma there, and now I'm getting lessons in rock guitar, but I'm hoping to study jazz eventually.

I work as a sales/program manager for an electronic contract manufacture.

I do a few things, Manager in the food buisness is my fulltime job. I also teach Judo to kids and adults, as well as children with needs. Along with the Judo, i'm also envolved with drop out kids with alcohol and drug problems, who have no respect for themselves or eachother, together with the social workers we make things right.

Perhaps my most fun night job, is bouncer/security. Free concerts, good pay, awesome time. Did the Rob Zombie, Ozzy show at the bell center, was great fun

I'm a second-year biology student, and I also work at my school setting up labs and such for the department. I aspire to work in a forensics lab, preferably in the firearms/toolmarks or toxicology departments.

The music thing is a hobby and just for fun. Sometimes I play bass for my brother's (Eyeball Kid's) solo stuff, which can be pretty interesting.

I drive forklift for Sauder Woodworking. They make cheap ready to assembly furniture. And fishing is one of the most relaxing things you can do. Actually catching fish is a bonus!

I play in a band, and move a lot. That's really about it. I did 2 and a half years in sound recording and jazz guitar at Duquesne University, then said screw that and went to MI for audio engineering... now that's finished and I pretty much wait to tour. It's hard to get a good job when you know you're going to lose it in a month, haha.

Before I knew I was going to move, my friend tried to convince me to go to Duquesne. One year at that place would have cost the equivalent of 4 years where I'm at now. I hope you're not in a lot of debt!

I'm a civil engineering student at UC Davis. I'm a transfer student and it's my first quarter at a "real college." So far I've joined a couple engineering things like ASCE and the steel bridge team which I hope turn out good.

As far as my main hobby, well that would have to be music. I play bass and a little bit of guitar and piano, but I just love writing music. I hope when I get a job after I graduate that I will still be able to go on to do music and hopefully the band that I'm in will write a record and do some minor touring. I say hope because some of the engineering firms and people that I've talked to say that it isn't uncommon to be working 60-80 hours weeks .

The missile range is to the south of that picture. I've been into that place, escorted of course... One of the perks of the job. Maybe I should apply for a Q Clearance. haha

Did you apply at my company? I joined IEEE and all that crap and they did jack for me. All they did was take my fee, send me a bunch of boring useless magazines, and send me updates on conferences that weren't even in my field. Quality.

You want to hear some feats of serious engineering? 300 pound, quarter million dollar HD projector + 50 pound welded steel stand + 40 pound guess-the-price lense array + ... resting supported on:4 pieces of screwed & glued plywood and 1 standard milk crate. I have pictures.

It's illegal to own milk crates. Not too sure about the letter of the law but it has something to do with them being the property of dairy farmers or something like that.

Oh yeah, to whoever asked if my boss makes me stay late, I work nights.

Nah, I'm not talking about the actual papers. Those are pretty cool. These are the dummified Scientific American style briefs, with lots of pictures and basically no purpose other than to say to an idiot "isn't that cool?"

I'd rather read the real journal with the papers... but then again, I'd rather get my hands on something and drive that development myself than read about somebody else doing it.
