What do you guys reccomend for wireless?

get a Line 6 G30 (or better) hands down. I have used every highend wireless. The G series is like playing with a cable. Get over your crap about having a bodypack, just tape it to your strap.

I find those plugs on the guitar like that end up taking more abuse and breaking. The cables do too, but if you get a good one they are designed for it. So get a body pack. Put it in your back pocket, tape it to your strap, lots of options.

I went out with $1k in my pocket to get the ultimate wireless. Tried a TON of them, the $500+ ones are quite good. Not quite a cable (Canare GS-6, neutrik ends), but very good. Then I got into the X2 Wireless (now Line 6) and it was the closest to the cable. And cheap too! I got the X2 XDS95+ with the antennae. I also really like it on my pedal board as well, less cabling that way. Cons are they burn through batteries, I get about 4-5 hours vs. 8-15 with most others.

The new Line 6 G-series I hear are just as good, with the same technology just a more legal Frequency band. The X2's were illegal in Europe, still Legal in the US.

I recently lent mine out to a bass-player buddy who had a broken Sennheiser, he immediately noticed the way better tone. Just raved about it.

Also check out the one by Brace Audio. I have been looking for an X2 XDS95 without the antennae for my smaller rig; but they have been discontinued. The Brace Audio ones look very promising. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/DWG1000/

Those line 6 pedal ones are actually good? I feel like I think less of them just because they aren't rackmount, haha, but that's probably stupidity.

I'm honestly not too concerned with tone though, live shows sound shitty 95% of the time anyway. I just want to to be rock solid and reliable, with as much range as possible.

I think the best option right now is the line6 relay50, as it's digital. I remember having an analog akg (the wms40 pro lasse is mentioning) and i absolutely hated what it did to my tone. YMMV of course

+1 for the Line 6 X2 stuff. My bass player and I have the rack version. Tone is awesome. Range is awesome. Battery life .....yea it sucks. Dead after 7 hours. Would like to test out the newer G90 model, but it's twice the price of the X2. Maybe if I ever get to play in Europe I'll upgrade.

I'm going with an x2. Everyone fuckig raves

Skip the X2 and goto G series. It's all digital but the G series is the X2 series redesigned, cleaner, uses double As instead of $9vs. The components are also smaller and cleaner in design. I went from x2 (the badass rackmount one) to g30 and won't go back.

7 hours is actually a long time for a wireless transmitter. FYI.

I just got the Line 6 G50. I was at the store and just asked for the best wireless system for the guitar that was no hassle and good, and the G50 was recommended.

The sound is amazing, but I noticed some latency. I did some research and it turns out that there is a 4ms delay due to the AD/DA conversion. I can notice and feel even slight latency (anything above 2ms), and when playing fast guitar stuff it is too bothersome for me. Are the analog systems better in this regard, or are there other options that do not introduce latency ? - I don't want ANY latency.

Would something like the Sennheiser ew 372 or 172 G3, be better ?

If you want NO latency, use a cable.

I actually just read a review on the G30 where the reviewer used a splitter and recorded the G30 and a cable simultaneously with zero latency. But I'd imagine any AD/DA conversion (coupled with the wireless routing) would have some amount of latency.

So you never move further than 68 cm away from your cab? :err:

And yes, A/D conversion introduces a little delay by design...
But 4 ms shouldn't be that bad, again thats like moving a little more than a meter away from your amp ;)
