What do your mixes sound like before they hit the master buss?

Depends on the mix.

they sound compressed (mastering comp) and louder (limiter).
+ sometimes a bit of mastering EQ if it needs some

Is anyone having a problem getting Gclip to work with vista? My computer denies every plug in it possibly can, well sorta haha
but everytime i try to opne a plug in that has been wrapped with my fxpansion wrapper it crashes pro tools, with access violations, fatal error crap. I mean i bought all my stuff legit so what's the deal, sorry i know this is not the thread for a question like this but it just sparked my mind.

As for me, my masters just getting louder and shitter. My mastering is my downfall at this point. I am practicing and getting better though

I have a habit of having my mastering bus on before i finish mixing, and then by the time i like how everything's sounding and I turn off the mastering bus i realize my drums are very loud.

But yeah.. this is usually how it works out for my mixes. Guitars always a bit quiet and then brought up in mastering and they also get a lot more character to them.

The unmastered one might be peaking...but it's not a problem for me since I master before mixing down

It's izotope Ozone 4 in its entirety.

Slight Harmonic Exciter, a multichannel compressor, a limiter, and a multiband stereo widener.
