I'm just pondering how very awesome a re-recording of BMD with Jonas on vocals would be. Don't get me wrong, the original is AMAZING, but it would just be interesting how it would sound with Jonas on Vokills, even if it were re-recorded with a new-era sound to it, clean vocals and all...

you must be kidding ? ? ? ! ! ! :Smug:

Well, Dimmu are re-recording their Stormblast album and their sound has changed significantly, so it would certainly be fun :)

hmm.. i think clean(ish) type vocals would be excellent! It would make it so much more melancholy. Its not gonna happen though, and maybe its better if it dosnt

Bloody blasphemy!!!!!!!!:yell::yell::yell::yell::yell:

I think it would be very interesting to see their approach on BMD a second time since they have changed alot since then....but I dont think it would ever happen......of course if they ever decided to do it I would buy the shit out of it......I think the idea of it is good....but I dont know if I would want it to happen.....BMD is so classic that I dont know if any newer version could equal it....even if Katatonia themselves did it......

GOOD THREAD........gettin people to think here..... :)

Why would anyone want to hear a remake that, trust me on this, will never, ever, be as good as the original? It would be interesting to hear a song re-done from that, but a remake of the whole album would be kind of sad...but hey, if Katatonia ever gets so old and stale, this might be a good opportunity for them, but as it stands I'm sure they're overflowing with creativity...look to the future, not the past

In dimmu's case, it's a contractual obligation, They've even admitted that they did not want to corrupt the legacy of that album (which they probably will do, given their current sad status in the metal world.)

I've thought about this myself actually. Was even going to make a thread about it but VampiricYouth beat me to it. Maybe at the end of an album as a bonus track they could possibly re-record one song off BMD. That'd be good I think because we could hear the song with Jonas's vocals and it also wouldn't butcher the legacy of the album.
