What is Harvest and The Drapery Falls about?

A good guess for any Opeth song would be Death :)

They have said though that Harvest is about lying on your Deathbed and regreting things you havn't done...

I don't think that it is specifically about his disgust for humanity. I think that all of his songs are about his disgust for humanity.

I think that The Drapery Falls is a reflection of his past. I could do a line by line interpretation, but I could be wrong about every line. It is as difficult as analyzing poetry. As for the past, he has killed people and those memories are haunting him.

harvest its about a gigant piece of shit that came out of a dragon's ass. This shit its suposed to prepare the road for the allmighty dildo of doom.... the one whose gonna judge us for our sins and all the constant masturbation.

The drapery falls... i rally have no idea.

Mikael stated in an interview that The Leper Affinity, The Drapery Falls, and Blackwater Park are all about humanity. He also explained Harvest, and he said that even HE didn't know what Bleak was about.

I find it's best not to try to think of what the lyrics mean since a lot of the time they are just words put together to sound cool.

Screw you is just words put together too. :p The meanings matter a lot...Harvest is just amazing lyric-wise.

BWP is my favorite opeth album lyric-wise. They really tell me something, while other Opeth lyrics can seem glued together from time to time. Windowpane is an exception, it's a cool lyric.
