What is the most technical riff of 2009?

Well, they are just another sterile pointless tehnical metal band.More varieties and some emotions in the music would be more than welcome.Pointless playing without emotions is not music.Nobody expects them to do anything else except for another tehnical show off and a good production.Their playing might have some point for guitar players, but not for me.Some tehnical death metal bands are interesting for listening, but Necrophagist isnt one of them.

if you're going to talk shit about Necrophagist like as if there are better bands out there, please enlighten us with your so called "more interesting" and "better" technical bands.

Zakk already did it.Look at the list of the bands he posted in death metal thread:cool:And im not going to argue about death metal with you:lol:

That's what they do, and they fucking kick ass at it.

They are still just a show off to me.Ive been listening to death metal for 8 years, and tbh I got tired of most of it.More you listen to death metal, more you realise that older bands are the only bands worth of listening.Thats one of the reasons why nowadays I mostly cant stand tech death.

Okay, I so I just read what you were talking about. A lot of those bands I don't really find that technical and also I think most of them are just trying to outdo each other in speed and "brutality". I really don't enjoy bands trying to get faster and faster and be more brutal than the other. Technical bands are more focused on just technicality than trying to be as fast as possible. Though there are few bands I truly consider really technical.

well it's a gay thread but its more or less about (guitar) riffs/playing.

1. Does it make a difference?

2. opinion. The gap was an automatic thing due to me not using any spaces, i.e, to highlight the point of an opinion.

Im sorry if I ever insulted your musical taste it wasnt my intention.I was just curious why so many people like them so much, without saying ''they are good players''or ''great production'' .But this is a ghey thread about tehnical riffs so mentioning Necrophagist here is a logical thing I guess.

Heydudewhydon'tyoushutthefuckupandlookuptheword'opinion'.

Agreed. Necrophagist is an awesome band!

Now, I'd like to share my thoughts on Bob Katsionis' Soukse from his instrumental album called Noemon (Yes, it's a 2009 album). Bob is a band member of Firewind and plays the guitars and the keyboards.

Here's the audio:

0:00-1:00:

Remarks:

The intro gives it an arabic-like feeling and it's a bit repetitive but you can feel the interesting sound coming out from his keyboard, which looks a bit like Janne's sawtooth lead(I'm not sure).

Technicality:

-There's some rest between some notes and groups of notes. This technique defines the arabic style.

-At 0:37, he voluntarily plays an unclear set of notes, showing how awesome and skilled he is.

1:00-1:47:

Remarks:
He seems to be a better keyboardist than guitarist from what I heard on all the album. His playing is a bit sloppy at 1:15 but I guess you can't compare them together.

Technicality:
-The guitar starts with a rather interesting chirp: Your ear seems closer to heaven than usual.
-Perfect control on his alternate picking.

2:12-2:36:

Just some fast playing with a couple of effects.

3:00-3:12:

Quite cool. He actually plays atonal licks! He makes me think of Jeff Loomis.

3:18-3:21:

Sloppyyyyyyy.

3:21-3:26:

Nice syncing! Each delayed pattern restarts at the same time as the riff.

Overall: This song is well done except there is still a bit of sloppiness. I think it's not his best song and he got lots of better ones like Apocalypse and Noemon.

Edit: P4T0U, if you're going to postjump me, do it with something people actually care about

I'm sorry but I've just recently noticed that the majority of your posts are either detailing the fact that you are, oh so surprisingly, "a girl"! Or are spewing some nonsense "tr00" opinion on music with a warped, almost Brutal Hate level of conviction.

So what? Its just my opinion and nothing else.
You are the last person who should tell me anything about my posts, cause you arent capable of posting anything else except for whining and bitching about other members. And its been like that for a loooooooong time.
