What is your favorite line from an Iron Maiden or in relation of Iron Maiden. For example... it could be Bruce Dickinson solo or even Bruce's first band Samson.

Mine would be

Song: Wasted Years

"So..... Understand... Don't waste your time searching for the wasted years. Face up make your stand, and realize your living in the golden years."

Song: Chemical Wedding

"So we lay, we lay in the same grave, a chemical wedding day."

Song: Man Of Sorrows

"Man of Sorrows I won't see your face. Man of Sorrows you left without a trace. This small boy wonders, what was it all about? Is your journey over, or has it just begun?"

Iron Maiden wise my favourite lyric is from my very favourite song Infinite Dreams, "Infinite Dreams, I can't deny them. Infinity is hard to comprehend..." I also like all of Revelations, probably since it sounds good and I can't understand what the hell the song is about!!

Bruce solo I really like "Purple, gold and blue - living colours every hue..." from Navigate The Seas Of The Sun for some reason. I just like the way it flows in that song.

From Adrian's ASAP project, I like "I’ve been bad, mistreated. They don’t understand. Never make a diamond from a grain of sand..." from Misunderstood.

And from Psycho Motel, "See the barcode on my neck here. It’s the same as last year - I am not my own..." from The Last Chain.

Oh thats a good question i think the only one i like more is:

"You are the phantom of the opera you are the devil you are just out to scare"

and maybe:

See .... onward she comes; Ondward she nears, out of the sun.
See .... she has no crew; She has no life, wait but there´s two.

:)

Shades of green grasses twine,
Girls drinking plasma wine.
A look at love, a dream unfolds,
Living here, youll never grow old.

- Strange World

Well, I don't know if I've picked out favorite but a few that come quickly to mind are:

"The truth of all predictions is always in your hands" from DWYBO
Being a tarot reader, I get so many questions about whether I can predict the future; yet tarot and other oracular arts are really about personal empowerment not fated outcomes. So this particular line really hits home summing up this theme.

"Say goodbye to gravity and say goodbye to death
Hello to eternity and live for every breath" from Wicker Man
Anyone for acoustic Maiden around a bonfire?

"When you think that we've used all our chances
And the chance to make everything right,
Keep on making the same old mistakes
Makes untipping the balance so easy
When we're living our lives on the edge
Say a prayer on the book of the dead " - Blood Brothers

"We all like to put the blame
On society these things
But what kind of good or bad
A new generation brings
Sometimes takes just more than that
To survive be good at heart
There is evil in some of us
No matter what will never change " - The Thin Line Between Love and Hate

"Only the good die young
All the evil seem to live forever" - Only the Good Die Young

"I know what I want
And I say what I want
And no one can take it away " - Journeyman

"Another assassination
The same day a new creation
But what are they coming into
Security of a world that brings... " - Blood on the World`s Hands

"Never felt this way before
Seems that somebody’s’ just opened the door
To the book of life .... or is it death
Is there ever anyway out
Someone’s looking down on me
To the very inner core of my soul
They won’t tell me what they see
But I really want to know" - The Educated Fool

The ones on my signature on my posts. :)

Also, I like: "Is this darkness really only full of light?" - Naviagate the Seas of the Sun.

"Oblivion, well it, BECONS US ALL!!!" - Children of the Damned

"Your outnumbered by the bastards till the day you die!!!!!!!!!!" - Fear is the Key

"Take me to Jesus with Judas my guide!!!!" - Son of a Gun

Not to disparage anyone's favorite Maiden lines ... but for me Maiden never really had anything that struck me on that level. For myself, Maiden songs are more about the story.

But definitely there are a number of funny lines from Mission From Arry!

"Fuck my old boots!"

"No, you're not the cunt!"

"And that way, he's a fucking proud geezer ..."

and of course, "... some cunt's recording this."

She came to me with a serpent's kiss
As the eye of the sun rose on her lips
Moonlight catches silver tears I cry
So we lay in a black embrace
And the seed is sown in a holy place
And I watched her and I waited for the dawn

oops, didn't mean to throw off people with my "mission from 'arry" joke LOL

anyone ever heard oasis' "wibbling rivalry" import cd single? it's just the two brothers arguing. i think it's even funnier that the maiden song. bruce said he hadn't heard the oasis single...

It's got to be appreciated!!! It came on random on my mp3 at the gym last week and I was on the bike giggling away to myself and I must have looked mental.

I've not heard that but I can imagine it would be pretty funny as well!!

just listened to the b-side "burning ambition" on the way back from the galaxy show tonight. i think this couplet is my favourite maiden lyric:

"There's something burning inside me that makes me want to be free
And when I get these feelings honey, you better keep away from me"

i remember feeling that way when i was about to get out of a bad relationship. that independent urge, if you will. it's got such attitude LOL
