What kind of metal you like and why ?

To answer to that question, I don't really like to label bands. So as long as I like the music it's fine.

Melodic death metal and power metal, especially those with an epic/neoclassical feel.

I like them because they give me mental images of LotR-esque stuff, which is easily my favorite style/time period of fantasy. I also just like it because it's generally fast, melodic, driven in progression, and generally moving heavy guitar riffs make me erect. Oh, and it's fun to headbang like a wild animal at times

Anything with classical influence, dark vibe that gives you the feeling you are in the forest and grim, epic vocals (prefer clean power metal vocals), harsh vocals are good too as long as they aren't complete shit (I could list MANY shitty vocalists), expressive guitars, and I love the unique and unusual. I have a very specific taste.

Basically very melodic and epic Progressive rock/metal as well!

All of it... Apart from anything with the word "core" involved... But I don't really consider that to be metal so whatever.

I would say Death metal, but what most people see as "OMGILISTENTODAETHMETOLLLLL" is not exactly what I mean. No melodic crap, just straight death. Preferably old Swedish, or american. Black metal and Blackened Deathmetal share the second place.

I like black metal first and forefront, with melo-death not too far behind. I also like the nonmelodic variety of death metal a lot, but not to the same extent as the two aforementioned genres.

I also like some metalcore, I really don't see what's so bad about it.
