-amorphis

-charon (unknown goodness!!!!!!!try them out)

i really love melodic types of metal but ive run out of new stuff to try ...

can the wonderfully talented members of this board recommend me some stuff that might be my taste?

thanks in advance

The obvious ones would be In Flames and Nevermore. Along with Opeth they are kind of the three most important underground bands of the last 5-7 years I think.

I also loved the last Darkane and reviews of the new one are very good so far.

I have the newest Soilwork and absolutely love it.

Meshuggah is amazing and sick but mostly musicians dig them.

Pain of Salvation is probably the best prog out there right now.

And if it's not too bold I'd like to suggest my band. We've had a lot of success at MP3.com. Kind of Doom/Black/Death but with melody.

let me know what you think.

Some fine selections already listed...my 2 Canadian cents:

Moonlyght - Progressive Darkness
Darkane - Expanding Senses
Emperor - Prometheus or Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk
Agalloch - The Mantle
My Dying Bride - Turn Loose The Swans or Dreadful Hours
Nevermore - Dead Heart In A Dead World
Edge of Sanity - Crimson
At The Gates - Slaughter of the Soul
Dark Tranquillity - Damage Done or The Gallery
The Black League - Utopia A.D.
Sentenced - Amok
Carcass - Heartwork
Borknagar - Quintessence or Empiricism
Ulver- Bergtatt
Devin Townsend - Terria
Arcturus - La Masquerade Infernale or The Sham Mirrors
Paradise Lost - Draconian Times
Clutch - self-titled
The Great Deceiver - A Venom Well Designed
Pain of Salvation - The Perfect Element 1

----All albums that I would wholeheartedly recommend.
