So last night cubase took a crap on me and it erased my preference which i had set before... now I put most of the preference back to what they were but im wondering whats this in top of the transport.
That's the inspector. You can disable it with one of the buttons in the upper left corner, but I wouldn't... its pretty handy. It displays file info and you can edit it. Very useful for finetuning automation points.
