I found this text from the guestbook and I was wondering what the hell happened there? This might be only shit talking, but I'm just curious man.

People who will stop listening to a band because a member wasn't the nicest guy in the world to them are fools. Music is music, regardless of whether or not the people playing it are jerks. You also never know what is going on with them at that point in time...if they have recieved some bad news or are sick and don't want to talk to anybody at all, or whatever the case may be.

That being said, I don't condone bands being jerks to their fans, but shit happens, and if somebody is going to stop listening to a band because of something like that then it's really their loss. I listen to a band for the music they create, not the attitudes they have at signing sessions.

Dude, gigs get shortened for many reasons, and i have seen(and worked at) a lot of signing sessions that DO have to get cut short for many reasons...the bands have nothing to do with this....they do have time limitations, and some people sometimes jump on stuff to quick and talk shit for no apparent reason. These guys are always nice as fuck to their fans that I have seen and like any normal person, may be a little more quiet, or tired, or not feeling well sometimes. Fans gotta respect that too.

It seems like when someone is well known, its like...i mean, say I dont feel well one day and I dont talk to much to some people I just meet. Chances are they wont pass judgement on me or call me disrespectful. But when a person in a band does this(i wasnt there, I am not making assumptions, I am just giving an example) they get branded an asshole, and thats not fair at all. Theyre just humans, and people gotta realize that. I mean, I dunno how id behave if i didnt feel well and had a ton of people surrounding me. Like I said, from what I know of these guys they are some of the nicest, most generous people ever...

I mean, i wasn't at this signing session and i dunno what happened there and how aleksi behaved... whatever.
BUT I DO know how he and the other bodom guys act towards fans. I've never met a band who was more respectful towards their fans. Aleksi still appreciates it when somebody comes to him and tells him that their music kicks ass. And even if he's fucked up, he's still nice and talks to you, not showing that he's not in the best condition.
There's really no reason to complain about bodom's behaviour towards fans, but as i said before, i haven't been on this signing session and don't know what happened there.

Another thing fans gotta remember....respect goes both ways. I have seen people with my own eyes act like jackasses in front of bands cuz they think that they are obligated to still be all cool no matter what. But respect is a two way street, i for one treat people how I am treated. If someone is being a jackass or rude to a band member, or anyone, then they deserve the treatment right back.

Yea, when I met Alexi and Janne, they were really nice to me. And I'm pretty sure they always try to be as nice as possible to their fans. But of course some fans can misunderstand stuff and shit.

Guys, don't think all brazillian fans are like this stupid one (Mr. 18)... My boyfriend and I talk to CoB guys just 1 hour ago... they woke up and came to talk to us, sign some stuff and take some pics... obviously they're TOO TIRED, but they're too nice and respectful, just like us...

Maybe this idiott thought Alexi need to smile all the time and spend a lot of his time talking, but this kind of thing doesn't happen in a human life!!! And we saw... Alexi got too tired after the shows.... please, let Allu in peace for a moment!!! :Smug:

look at Phil Anselmo of Superjoint Ritual, previously of Viking Crown, DOwn and Pantera. He is a complete asshole, but he puts out some of the best music i have ever come across. this guy is a genious, but in person, an asshole.

i couldnt care less how he is in person, thats his business, not the fans. he still creates great music.

Hey, when CoB left in Wacken right before it was my turn in the signing session I was so pissed off I immediately kicked them from my throne of metalgods and had J.B.O. (German fun metal band) sign my FTR booklet Now if the Children ever want to get a second chance to give me their autographs they'll have to sign my J.B.O albums

Well seriously, the guys were nice enough and even posed for my camera while I was waiting in second row. And I know they had to leave because it was J.B.O.'s turn at the meet&greet. (That's the reason why I had them sign my CoB stuff, because they came right after CoB.... I wouldn't have waited to have the wrong band sign my FTR booklet ) Maybe they (Alexi) had a bad day at Bela Horizonte (I'm repeating others), anyway a single bad day or even a lifetime asshole personality doesn't change a single note of how the music sounds. If someone stops liking the music because of the way Alexi treats them, I'd say they liked the music for the wrong reasons in the first place
Anyway, what exactly was that bad treatment those ex-fans received from Alexi? Can anyone back up some details to show if their disappointment is reasonable, or if they just expected too much?

I hate signing sessions, you are treated like brute (@fenrir: usually the fans should be humans, too). That's why I don't take part on them. Only in Wacken I've waited 1 hour with a friend at the Hypocrisy singing session, just because my friend wanted a picture with Peter and him. Never again...

I never could imagine Alexi or another member of the hate crew acting like an asshole to a fan!! i mean at the wacken signing sessions i had my FTR and HCDR booklet and i wanted both signed... but the FUCKING security guy told me: "no kid, just one piece"! and i was like : "why? can i at least take a picture ??" and he was again like: " no,no,no!!!!" but alexi heard that i wanted to take a pic with him and told the security : " come on dude, just cut it out! he just wants the take a pic with me!! why do you need to have a problem with that"

Yeah and i also took a pic with Henkka , who in my eyes is the coolest member of the COB !!

Yea, I don't care about the autographs either.. when I met Alexi and Janne in Piteå, Sweden, when they had a gig there. I didn't care about the autographs. I was one of the few Finnish persons there
So after chatting a few words with Alexi I bought a beer and while drinking it, there came very much Swedish people who took pictures and autographs. Then I left and asked Janne if he had a lighter, then he took Alexi's lighter and "lighted" (don't know the word haha) my cigarett, I thanked him and he smiled at me, and then I left.
That was very nice of him. I respect him as a musician and now as a person too, even I don't know him, but he just was so nice.

Yeah, autograph sessions can be brutal. @Thilo: I know what you mean. When I said everyones human, I mean more like everyone has good days and bad days no matter what. But yeah, I totally agree that sometimes people get out of line at signings...but a lot of the time, the security I see pisses a lot of people off, like in the story above. I have seen some security act like UTTER fucking dicks at signing sessions...and the fans werent even getting out of line at the time or asking for much.

But what it all comes down to is ...that person is going to lose out on all the great music that COB will put out in the future because of his/her stupidity. I have met soooooo many bands, you wouldnt believe , even the metal gods themselves, Iron Maiden & Judas Priest...and they were the coolest guys I have EVER met in my life...but there were times when they were clearly very tired and needed some space after a show, not an attitude from a demanding fan.
The person who wrote that is the one losing out, not ALexi.

Agreed that there are good personalities and bad personalities. After the Strhess tour hit Houston, I got to talk with the Guitarists of Shadows Fall. One of them stayed with us and chatted while the other just signed autographs and left.

Either way I respect them for their music.

people down here kept saying the COB guys were rude because they just don't know finnish people and they didnt give a fuck to the fact they had just woken up when they went to that goddamn signing session. I can tell you no one was rude whatsoever to me in Rio's signing session. Everyone in the band did what they were supposed to do. I even had a little chat in finnish with Henkka haha he was veeery nice replying to my finnish crap. Some stupid ppl down here think they should act like cheerleaders or some shit like that... fuck, they had JUST WOKEN UP, ffs!
in this page you can see some pics of the gig and the signing session in Rio... look at their expression, they weren't goddamn rude or anything.
