Id like to start taking up more classical music, but I don't know where to start. I have the basics down, but Im going to need some help to know where to goto next.
Recomend me some classical Guys.
I recomend you to play J.S.Bach's music. You can find a lot of wonderful compositions playing what is not very difficult... Try to play Air on a G string for example.
You might seek out a good instructor in your area, if nothing else but to build a strong foundation with classical guitar technique....helps you get off on the right foot and could save a lot of time later if you have to go back and fix errors in your technique.
I'd recommend picking up a good method....Parkening, Shearer,.....Pumping Nylon is a good one for building technique and Chris mentions Kithalarogus. ANd some good song books.....I always like the Bach stuff aswell.
Some of the greatest classics were created by Russian composer Tchaikovsky.
Almost all the great bombastic classical music you hear at big 4th of July fireworks displays are Tchaikovsky. The great ballet music classics are Tchaikovsky. He's everywhere! http://www.last.fm/music/Pyotr+Ilyich+Tchaikovsky
