Bad thread title aside help me pick an EQ. I'm looking for something with characture and since I can't have the real version of either of these well....
If it helps I am looking for something that I will be using on tracks on not on the 2 buss.

Also out of all of the URS compressors (minus the Chanel strips) what one would you recommend?

Unless something has changed recently, TriTone digital definitely do offer a student reduction. hydratone is cool but be prepared to have a good computer if you want to use it a lot.

Why the hell wouldn't you want the Channel strip pro? - instead of having just one a neve or pultec, you can have a pultec, 2 different neve's, an API and an SSL all in the same plugin (and on different bands). Not to mention the compressor which will do everything else any other URS comp will do and more. And you also get all the different compressor starting points which mimics the behaviour of a TON of classics.

If you are going to go for individual plugs by URS, i like the Neve API and pultec clones. The 1975 is the best comp to me, followed by the 1980, although thats not to say the 1970 is bad. Has anyone tried the saturation plugin yet?

Dont be fooled by the imitation GUI's!

man, the URS API graphic is tits on guitars...

edit: the BLT is also the SHIT on snare...it's like the hi/low freq's are pre-fit for a snare drum...if you can't get your shit to cut through with that, then you're just a failure
