Can anyone explain the big differences between the Profire 2626 and the 610? Obviously there's less inputs, but are they pretty much the same?

Yep. I don't think the DSP mixer I'm talking about exists on that unit though (it wouldn't really need it).

I just got a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 and it sounds as good to me as my RME Fireface 400 did.

I haven't had a chance to extensively test it, but that is my initial impression.

Actually, when it clips, its quite a bit harsher, but other than that its very similar.

hmmm. fuck. I am probably just gonna order and see for myself.

I´ve read a few reviews though that sad the craftsmanship on the m-audio is inferior to a focursrite or presonus.
