I use em too...d'addario XL 10-46, and I also tune down one full step! *shame on me *

I also started doing this before SymX existed.

i tune down too, with 10's. But I can't say I did it before I found out about SymX. The sound is so much better though, thicker and overall better for metal.

When they played here in Baltimore, MJR's roadie was out talking to the people in line before the show. I remember asking him what kind of strings Romeo uses. He said D'Addario 10-46.

The easiest answer is "whatever he can get his hands on". GHS, D'addario, Ernie Ball...if you need a string and they are out of stock of the one brand, you grab the next best package in your size. He's MJR, not Eric Johnson

Why does it seem as though everyone has to stay in the same tuning at all times? I jump around like a friggen madman...Standard, half step, full step, one and a half steps, two steps...I believe I have tuned three and a half steps down, but that didn't last too long before I went out of tune.

But a full step down is the ultimate tuning!

heh... I use D'addario 11's, But they're jazz strings which, suprisingly, gives somewhat of a unique sound that you dont find in metal.
