Which studio monitors are best?

Hey,

I figured out I needed a new set of studio monitors. My budget is around $500.
So far I have been looking at the M-Audio BX8a Deluxe and KRK RP5G2 Rokit G2.
Can anyone recommend one of these? And are they suitable for a small room (4x4m)?

I would get the KRK's personally. Go to your local sam ash/guitar center/music store and listen to how they all sound. Make sure to put some money into treating room room with Bass traps etc. The DIY ones are pretty cheap and easy to build

yep...i agree with roflsjasd.....go to guitar center and listen to both. but i know the m audios are pretty reliable and don't lie as much as the KRK's, they are good too but they are bassy...but who knows maybe you like bassy

wat? the rp5's have some serious falloff starting at 100hz and below.. unless you like to mix loud as hell, which I don't, they are only 5" drivers after all
