I just noticed a few other people on it are also deleting the items instead of DL or copying them to the computer

My guess is that they think the dropbox folder on their computer is local, and delete it.. without knowing that it deletes the stuff laying on the dropbox server as well..

i am very sorry but i cant restore it
i deleted it a long time ago but i havent
opened dropbox in a long time

edit: i think i didnt actually deleted it but move some things around
im gonna search them right now

Na dude you can delete whatever you want off your pc...once its uploaded to the sneap folder its like a copy of the file in a new location so its not effected....If you go into the sneap folder and delete something though....BAM....its gone

like i said i havent opened the dropbox program in a long time
and i surely havent deleted anything on my dropbox account

i have found everything (or almost everything on my pc) so
im putting it on the sneap folder again

Normally you can undo this by restoring deleted files (delete folder on dropbox website). Hope this will work...

Yeah that folder is technically a direct link to the box so if you modify that, then it will modify the actual files in the box too.

Its not that big of a deal I just figured id bring it to everyones attention so that it doesn't keep happening and everyone loses all the great stuff in the box.

Zeronaut...post in here when your done replacing what you can, After that ill go through my library and try and re upload everything else that was taken out, I should have the whole box in my library its just reorganized.

Easy way around it is to just log into it on the dropbox website to do what you need to do instead of syncing to it. otherwise you get confused and delete something, and then EVERYBODY ELSE'S synced dropbox folders get crap removed from them. I think dropbox keeps backups of stuff even after you delete it though? I seem to remember removing files out of my own dropbox, and when i put them back in they're instantly available, don't need to upload.
