who like PanterA

I really like Cowboys the best... Everything after just seemed to be them trying to prove they were bad asses. You will never hear Phil sing high again like he did on cowboys. I think the major turn off for me from Pantera is the mojarity of thier fans are stupid cave men/rednecks.

No I remember I heard on a different forum that some guy said he was at one of their gig's and Phil started shouting all this racist shit and doing the 'sieg heil' salute. I'm not 100% on that, but it's what I've heard.

this guy who I know knows this guy who has a friend that read something about Peter lindgren being into bdsm... :)

they suck...when i was younger i used to like them, but nowadays i can stand only "vulgar display of power", in my opinion their best album so far.

The first Panetera song I heard was "This Love" and I thought it fkn rocked out! I was sold immediately. Soon after I had Cowboys, Vulgar, Far Beyond and Southern Trendkill.

I found it to be highly entertaining...until I knew the music. AND NOW? Forget about. Sometimes I'm afraid to hear bands that I once loved so much. I was listening to Metallica's Garage Days about a week ago. I USED TO LOVE THAT. Now it just seems silly and boring. It's to repetitive. Opeth's repetitive, but it has wicked complex riffs, orgasmic vox and chaotic drums that practically demand my attention play after play. So much of what I used to like just doesn't compare to that.

::Thinks about Opeth touring again::
They're coming to the Palladium again, January 18th. Ohhhhhboyohboyohboyohboy!

I heard on other forums that Mike A. killed a black guy because he was black. After, i heard that he spit on his dead body and repeatedly used the "N" word in describing his mother, father, and siblings.

Come on, just because you HEARD someone's opinion (who most likely hates Pantera) doesn't mean you should be so gullible as to accept every word he says. Plus, if Mike A. was racist, id still enjoy Opeth.

I hate them. They try to hard, especially Phil with the image... the music does absolutely nothing for me either, monotonous and boring. And what's all this redneck/neo nazi shit surrounding them now? Just repulses me even more. Goddamn posers.

What are they posing?

I have "Vulgar display of power" & "Far beyond driven" (double, with the original cover!) on vinyl and "The great southern trendkill" on cd. They're all pretty good, but I must admit that I was really happy when I got a hold of the two lp's, then I played them 2-3 times I think and now they've been collecting dust ever since!
I borrowed "Reinventing the steel" and it didn't pass my mediocre grade. Borring riffs, and some of hem just sounded hard to be hard instead of making something that was worth listening to. The first riff on the record sound very, very similar to the intro riff on "Cowboys from hell"! There was only two songs that I really liked and one of them was only alright as far as I recall. The rest was just mediocre wast of time!

I'm a Pantera fan but not as big of a fan as I used to be. I've seen them perform twice and I thought they put on a really good energetic show both times. If it wasn't for Pantera and White Zombie I wouldn't of eventually gotten into extreme metal in the first place. Pantera basically made me really love heavy music. The only album of theirs I listen to anymore is Cowboys but I'll probably always consider Vulgar to be their best album. I didin't care much for Reinventing...

To what Moonlapse said...

I don't know if this has to do with anything I've posted before, but my friend Harry saw Phil with his band Down in Oklahoma and Phil was talking about white power and some other ignorant bullshit in between his comments about how good pussy is down there in OK. He's a racist, drunken prick with a big mouth.

Everyone says "Phil tries too hard with the image" because they can't think of anything else to critisize them with.

They are not neo-nazi's and if the only thing you're basing that assumption off of is the confederate flags they have then, hate to say it, but you're ignorant. They all come from the south so I don't see what's wrong with having a little southern pride.

Your friend is either lying, taking it out of context, or didn't hear him right. Phil really isn't racist and never even really talks about the subject. I've seen him live three times, and he does a large amount of talking in between shows and he mentioned race maybe once. When he did it was something to the effect of "Black, white, I really don't give a shit"

Everyone says he's got a big mouth, blah blah blah, but nobody here, I'm willing to bet, would have the balls to say it to his face. Jeez, someone speaks his mind and suddenly he's a collosal prick.
