Who likes Kamelot?

That would be a cool thing Joey - quite different from what we know you for and quite honestly I'd love to hear your take on this type of metal. I love most everything Kamelot has done, like others, Black Halo was a highlight for me and also a great show to see on that tour. You need to get busy and go out and recruit a power metal project :)

see the thing is, i dont even listen to the music i record. in my spare time i listen to bands like in flames, arch enemy, sylosis, dimmu borgir, kamelot, etc. etc.

I am perfectly capable of producing this type of music, as I feel a great connection with true metal style. This scenecore bullshit sure does pay the bills, but it doesn't feel very rewarding.

Then get to it Joey! Despite all the crap that goes on around here, you've definitely got talent. And as Jind said, I'd love to hear what you can do with this type of genre.

I've been a huge fan of them for years, awesome band  And guys, check out the album Epica (came out right before The Black Halo), it's awesome too! (and Karma is as well, though a bit more traditional power metal, though at least not as bad as "The Fourth Legacy", which I honestly really am not a fan of)

Really dug them a few years ago. Quality band, for sure.

I had a bit of a music-shift some years after where I just got tired of power metal altogether, and I haven't listened to them since. But memory says their arrangements and music were quite solid indeed.

Wouldn't so much like to 'produce' a band like this, but I think it would certainly be a blast to mix a record of that type.

Fantastic band! Haven't listened to them for a little while but always get excited when I hear them! :)
I to dislike their guitar tone! Line 6 hd147, quite akin to lacuna coil as I'm pretty sure they use the same! I've always wondered about the possibilities you'd have with that kind of band in terms of tone and overall mix! Getting a nice and thick sound etc!
Have a crack Joey! Could be cool haha!

I really like Kamelot. They use to be among my top bands a few years back. While I still like the older albums and live DVD, Ghost opera was a real let down for me and solidified what I started to fear- the vocal melodies only have so much they can add to the music unless they make a drastic change to the song writing. Also the bitch bits in the background of every chorus on GO are realyl annoying, it's basically the same thing in every song.
The previous 4 albums were great though.

I kind of agree about GO. I love "Rule The World" and the title track, but the rest was just kind of a let down for me. Not to mention, Roy stayed in lower registers the whole album. Although sonically, it's an aural treat for my ears.

If the new album will be darker and heavier, then I can't wait to hear it! I just wish someone would re-amp Thomas' guitar tracks!

My 59 yr old father LOVES The Black Halo, I bought it for him about a year ago; since he's a huge Queensryche fan I figured he'd dig them.

I was right

My apologies then. I know they endorse and use the hd147 so maybe it's just live. The recorded tone seems so alike with the hd... Brutal haha

Nobody likes Karma??? my favorite from them, and of course The Black Halo, and... Ghost Opera definitely has some classics, do you guys heard Edenecho from this album??

All the more reason Joey, all the more reason....

i fucking love them >.<
i discovered them with their cd "Dominion"
that cd is shit compared to the new ones ...their previous singer was pretty bad...well not "bad" but i just didnt like it too much

what i like the most about them are the lyrics
its seems that every song is a story being told

cant fucking wait for the next album "Poetry for the Poisoned" (September 2010)
which is produced by Sascha paeth and Miro (the fucking gods of power metal)

and it has really nice guests on the album:

* Simone Simons (Epica) - Female vocals
* Gus G. (Ozzy Osbourne, Firewind) - Guitars
* Björn "Speed" Strid (Soilwork) - Vocals
* Jon Oliva (Savatage, Jon Oliva's Pain) - Vocals
