what is this all about? why are people calling prog vocalists "whiney" ? what the hell is wrong with singing high? damn the closed minded people!

I like prog/power vocalists now. I hated them at first, just like i did growled vox.... hmm... a similarity there maybe? ya think? i do. Get used to them and quit bitching.

I agree 100%, it's an aquired taste like screaming and growling. Daniel Gildenows vocals are a good example of an aquired taste, I got used to his vocals just like I got used to Chuck Shuldinas.

I hated Gildenlow at first. But now it just seems normal and I own all of PoS's albums, so hey.

Hehe - just saw Korn last night. But, I'll have to disagree with the whiney part - I think both Dave Draimon's voice of Disturbed and Jonathan Davis's voice are quite unique, real powerful, and anything but whiney - IMHO.
