I tend not to listen to albums once I've done them. Not for a long time anyway.

I'm the same way! Why I would I want to listen to somthing again after about 5 million listens during the recording/mixing process! It's like experiencing burn out but then after a while it can be cool to hear again to see how your mixes have progressed.

I have no desire to be sat in a room for 12 - 14 hrs aday listening to something I don't get / enjoy / relate too.

And bless you for that. I don't think anyone truly wants a producer who doesn't get what they are doing. It sounds to much like work.
