Why is rye bread like 2 trillion times better than white bread?

Ewww rye is such a nasty flavour. At least white bread doesn't really taste like much. Wheat is where it's at though. Especially whole grain wheat.

mindspell: you really ought to try peanut butter and bacon. amazing!

regarding the vealoaf: no!!! if you put mustard on vealoaf, you MUST use rye bread. ketchup and rye don't go well together, though, so if you want the unique taste of fried vealoaf/ketchup, you regrettably need white bread.

re: french toast: i've never had whole wheat sourdough french toast, but i'm not sure about it. challah, on the other hand, sounds delicious. i'm not saying white bread is superior for the french toast, but that french toast is one of the few things white bread can be used in and still rule.

i use Kuchen bread for french toast- with the cinnamon swirls and crumbly sweet stuff = awesome.

Yes, Sourdough is definitely the pinnacle of bread. All other breads taste like vomit in comparison.
