Hello dudes,

My band will move into our monthly space in August or so. I'm preparing and researching all the necessary gear to record us when we are ready.

I plan on getting a cheap laptop for home use, music, net, downloading, etc. I will reformat my G5, upgrade to 4GB RAM, and use this for recording. It has a pre-Intel 2.3 dual core processor.

Do you think this processor speed and RAM will be sufficient for this? The computer itself will have the bare minimum of programs necessary installed on it.

thanks

I run a G5 dual 2.0 with OSX10.5, 4gb RAM and don't have problems even when I was running 24-tracks simultaneous into Cubase. Sheeet my Powerbook G4 (1.33 processor and 768mb ram) can handle 16 tracks no prob.

And the amount of progs doesn't matter it will run like it's suppose to with 3 or 30.
