Must be mid to late September, because the first week of September consists of them touring Australia.

Of course Opeth is going to go on a headlining tour in support of Watershed, once their previous touring obligations (ie Prog Nation and the various Euro tours) are completed. It's pretty much a common sense thing. If you can't understand why people are responding in this way, maybe you should re-evaluate the existence of any intelligence in your brain. when a band releases a new album, generally they go on a headlining tour in support of it, even if it's not directly after the release due to other pre-determined obligations (ie the prog nation tour or the various euro tours they're doing.) they'll come back to the us eventually. use your fucking brains on this one, guys.
