Windowpane - best song for years

I was making a few compilation CDs of progressive rocksongs to take with me when I go to Wales next week and I put some 14 songs on each. Listening back to them later I realized that the song Windowpane by Opeth was one of the best songs I've heard in years by any progband.

This song is a masterpiece. It's got some of the best 70s influences (Camel , Led Zeppelin etc. ) and it is written and played so well that it has become my favourites of all the songs I put on the CDs.

Well Katatonic you are so obviously wrong. There is no similarity apart from "Windowpane" being mentioned, the general mood of the piece and that acoustic sort of feel and general air of melancholy.

They are so different. Apart from the above mentioned.

I can think of about 50 Opeth songs that I like more than Windowpane, yet Windowpane is good.

I think 'Windowpane' sounds alot like some Pink Floyd.
