Windows 7, final verdict?

I use Windows 7 x64 and will never go back. It's been the version of Windows I've been waiting for. It's been stable, quick, intuitive, and secure - so far all the things I want.

Win 7 FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I run 64 bit Windows 7 with Cubase 4 and have not run into any issues what so ever.

I have a copy of Win 7 64 bit sitting here.... can use my key for either the 32 bit or 64 bit version.... I'm on XP 32 bit right now and could just upgrade to Vista (from a friend's Vista disc) and then to Win 7 32 bit after that....

Or I could do a clean install of Win 7 64. Just so much work reinstalling everything..... meh... lol

Anyone here tried both 64 and 32? I'm just interested in the 64 bit version so I can use more RAM later on down the line... but not feeling like doing a clean install...

Reinstall!!:)

okay, I'm moving everything off of my 2nd hard drive onto my 1st hard drive (the one that has XP installed on it)... and going to unhook the xp drive and install Win 7 64 bit on the empty drive... and then afterwards I will hook up both, setting the win 7 drive to master, and slowly move things over to minimize the reinstalling/copying over files... Do you guys think this is the easiest way for me? seemed like the quickest/most painless way to make the switch over to Win 7 64 without losing everything...

I just installed win 7 on my new laptop and everything was fine for about 15 minutes online. Then I got over 200 viruses, my hardware caught on fire and finally the laptop blew up killing my new born kitten called Sniffles. FML. :erk::waah:

pro tools won't run apparently in win 7, althought there is a beta version that's supposed to work.

I personally don't like 7 that much. It's not terrible, but it feels abit convoluted and bloated. It seems to run slowly, but the navigation seems alot more hard to work with in comparsion to XP. Xp's menus are just so much easier to navigate and find stuff. 7 looks nice though, and so far it seems to run well on my laptop - but I'm just not sold on it. Maybe when pro tools is all synced up i'll give it a better shot.
