Winter NAMM 2010!

intrigued by the new CLA and JJP plugs.
Waves is really stepping it up lately. Seriously considering upgrading to Mercury later this year...

I asked a Digi guy today if he could at least tell me when they might come out with some new HD news, and he seemed immediately irritated, and said "Most likely no news this entire year"...

Looks like Marshall's throwing another 2203 reissue on the market: The AFD100, modelled after the one Slash used to record "Appetite For Destruction". Which, ironically, was actually just a stock 2203 he rented from a music store.

A 2203 was used for clean tones and possibly some rhythm, but the leads were a 1959 modified to have an extra preamp tube and a master volume control.

Wow... that is very strange after all the sales and the corporate restructuring. I figured they were going to do something new/different soon.

My agenda was to find Steven Slate and get the S2.0 preset (check, though Steven wasn't there, but Mattias was a really cool guy)... Check out all the gear I could get my hands on (check) and yell at someone from Digi (check)... I don't think that last one will do much good though... maybe thats why he was irritated...

Here's a picture of the new Devin Townsend 7 string courtesy of my friend Anthony who's been at NAMM the past two days:

He got to play it, said the baritone scale was a bit much for him but the guitar played really well and had sustain for miles.

V plate + TOM isn't as cool looking as the hipshot style hardtail he has on the proto, but I do prefer the playability of TOM's. Volume knob placement is worse than his, as well, but that single coil feature is awesome and the infinity logo is a nice addition.

If this thing is decently priced like the other PXD's, I'm gonna have to move some stuff around to fund it.

Also I think Digi will always want you to use one of their interfaces (like with m-powered or Le) even the New HD will going fully native

I have nothing against that, IMHO the 96 and 192 are very decent converters, I just don't like the idea of having to pay for obsolete DSP technology to get to use a non-crippled version of PT. I'd love to see a 192FW that I could run PT with!
