I did some searching online regarding Necrophagist's inactivity. I read on their wikipedia article that Muhhamed reported being ill and not really going into detail as to what is wrong with him. I dug even deeper looking for more info. Watching an interview with Muhammed around 2010 at the summer slaughter tour, he reports that he's been involved in a lot of non-musical projects and works professionally as an Electrical Engineer. That kind of work is extremely technical (like his guitar playing haha!) and very time consuming so i'm guessing hes only working on the next album during his leisure time. I'm willing to wait as long as it takes.

As for Wintersun, i heard Jari's PC configuration was outdated and he needed to upgrade his RAM, some tracks from time include over 100 tracks! I honestly don't really know whats taking so long with it, upgrading/installing RAM is one of the easiest modifications one can make to their PC.

Bottom line: I think Necrophagist will come 1st. We also can't rule out the fact that these guys might be lacking the efficient inspiration to write follow up albums to their masterpieces.

Jari has made the upgrades, long ago, but some of the VST's he's using are still in 32 bit, hence he's still limited by 3.something GB of ram. Doesn't matter how much he puts in the PC. According to Kai Hahto the VST's were supposed to be upgraded to 64bit by the start of 2011, which was a promise the makers of said VST's did(and apparently couldn't hold).

But even with all tracks that can be bounced, bounced, and running all the chains he can. He still runs out of RAM in only EQ, Compressor and Limiter VST's

Such is life when you pass 350 tracks per song, I guess.

wat a twat, you exchange the plugin, I wouldnt wait a year for a VST coming out if thats holding back the release of my recordings. Or spend some money on studio time (in a proper studio that can handle that shit). Seriously the lack of 64 bit plugins is his excuse? What a twat.

Even my macbook at home could handle 223 tracks for a movie sounddesign with several plugins on each track.

holy shitz0r

It's compiled from a fuckton of live performances, holy shit this rocks

Fuck someone just give Jari a fucking Blackstar or a Marshall JCM setup and mic up the fucker. VST would NEVER beat good ol' tube tone :p
