Also, a funny note about Wintersun...

I became an instant fan of the band when their debut came out in 2004. Their lack of live shows (especially in North America) made me think I'd never see them. A common joke between me and some close friends was that the day they finally announce a US tour, the world would end...

Turns out I'm seeing them the night before the "end of the world..."

I tried to get a ticket to this but it sold out. Seeing that Wintersun isn't playing a whole lot off the debut lessens the burn. I'll probably wait for them to come back and play a longer set. Not into the other two bands either.

I would love to see my favorite songs by Eluveitie, but it seems that they're songs #20, #21 and #22 on their setlist. I will certainly not going to stay til the end.

I liked them alot when Spirit came out but as they started to sound more and more like Dark Tranquillity I decided to just listen to Dark Tranquillity lol.

I'll be in Boston for the "end of the world" show. I guess I should get there early for Varg since I'm on their guest list thanks to Napalm Records

Shot Wintersun in Oakland. Fucking fantastic live, and I wasn't a fan until this. Varg was a good time too. And lets face it, FREKI looks like Curufin.

I was a big fan of Spirit and Slania. Everything Remains was pretty boring and nothing I heard off their latest album grabbed me. Eluveitie must really love their new album since they're playing it in its entirety and only playing like one song off each of the other albums :/

at the Boston show now, Varg is great. Much bigger crowd here than expected; it's great to not have to drive to Worcester!

Yep.. I think they've sold out 11 dates on this tour.

I've seen a ton of bands at the Gramercy. I've never heard one that sounded as bad as Wintersun. Not sure if blame lies with the sound guy or the band. Waaaaaaaay too much high end and no separation. That said, it didn't seem to dampen the crowd's rabid excitement level.
