Within the first 40 seconds of the new Allen/Lande

The first Starbreaker album is easily one of my favorite albums Magnus has been a part of, and probably the most different from the rest of his stuff overall. "Die For You" is one helluva catchy tune.

I couldn't agree with you more Claus, John West on the Feinstein CD was absolutely horrible, so bad in fact I almost cried. Sometimes good singers do mess up royally, and it is because of the material they are given to sing.

John, I couldn't disagree with you and Claus more! I love the Feinstein CD and think that CD is proof John West was born to sing power metal!

I agree with you. What did you think of the 2nd Starbreaker? Not as great as the first one, but still dan fine stuff. The Starbreaker stuff has a more "modern" edge compared to other Karlsson works. The snare sound on the 1st album does bother me though...It could have been better...

Starbreaker is the one Karlsson vehicle that goes beyond his typical formula, but I'm guessing that has more to do with Tony Harnell's input.

That said, I love Karlsson's formula. I don't care if we're more or less on Last Tribe mark XXV at this point because that is exactly my kind of melodic metal.

Yep....West kicked major ass on Feinstein. I love everything he's done....EXCEPT......Artension "Future World". This stunned me when I first heard it...it sounded like they used a vocal track he did as if he was tossing around ideas for melodies. It had no power or conviction....a very weird, weak, falsetto sound. He turned around and kicked ass once again on Emir Hot's "Sevdah Metal"....great stuff.

Phallic metaphors of appreciation notwithstanding, I'm looking forward to hearing this album! I really dug the first one.

Ark still does nothing for me. I've tried over and over for years, even before PP2. Still nothing.

Agree agree agree. I listened to those samples Milton posted, and it just didn't make me go "HELL YEAH!" once. Reminded me why I deleted those mp3's. Jorn's singing is certainly a highlight, but it can't make the music do anything for me.

I'll take SymX's Paradise Lost.
