who are Boris and Torche?

Boris are a Japanese Doom/Drone/Sludge band. Not too sure about Torche...

I have to admit Wolves in the Throne Room didn't impress me on my first listen a few years back - perhaps because i was expected more folk music in the mix.

I'm looking at ordering their album(s) now. Are they both worth getting? Is there any clear differences between the two albums as far as quality or style goes?

Personally I always found their music horrible and over-rated.... but I just checked my media library again and I don't even have them, so fuck knows where that (pre?)conception came from... just the start of that article makes me want to give them another go though.
