Well, I can't remember what music has gave me goosebumbs or anything of the sorts lately (hmm... Porcupine Tree - Signify - Sleep Of No Dreaming or Waiting (both phases) ) come pretty close, but the most pleasant surprise this year was Therion - The Secret Of The Runes.

All the previous Therion albums had been pretty sluggy and drab (note: IMHO), but The Secret Of The Runes was a goddamn pleasant surprise! It was nothing of the sorts I expected Therion to put out. It's WAY energetic and it has really good melodies, usage of choirs, flutes, strings, etc... it's a really good album imo.

What I don't understand is why I've heard "used-to-be" Therion fans say the new album sucks.. I think it's their best one to date.
