the geek at my work says it was horrible.

i think i'll take his word over the rest of yours when it comes to movie adaptations of comic books.

Well the die hard comic books geeks may not like it, since it strays from the books.

I say judge for yourself.

Haha. Well, it was fairly inaccurate as far as the X-Men world goes, but the other movies have been as well. As a superhero MOVIE, it was pretty good. It was exciting, had some surprising moments, and had a good deal of cheesy moments, and I couldn't care less how inaccurate it was because I don't care much for Marvel comics anyway.

I'm a huge comic book fan and I loved the movie. It was great for what it was, and they FINALLY used their powers. Yes, the X-Men do in fact have powers! But you wouldn't know from watching the first two movies. It strayed from the source material quite a bit, but if I didn't want it to be different I'd just go and re-read the books for the 100th time.

also keep in mind it's in the geek's nature to talk shit about these kinds of things. They will never be satisfied.

I liked it. I've been gay for Hugh Jackman for years, though.

It was not as epic as I expected, but it's entertaining and works fairly well.

So yeah, I liked it :)

heh, I also thought it was all epic à la LotR, you just ruined my day  (not really, I got new glasses and I look fucking hawt with them)

lol.... everythign about the movie was gay. I went to it expecting it to be...not very good...but had hopes of at least being entertained. I wasn't at all. It was boring, trite with weak dialogue, effects and action sequences.

The effects and action sequences were, for the most part, fine. The dialogue was one dimensional, and the phoenix was practically a non-existent character...BUT...it was still alot of fun :)

...I would just like to point out that it was a superhero movie. Weak dialogue is not only expected, but pretty much a requirement. UNLESS it's a movie based off of the Vertigo line. That sort of movie has a different standard completely.
