I was thinking of ordering this album, but I was wondering what my fellow Enchant fans thought of this. Is it true that Ted Leonard sings all the songs? How does it sound compared to Enchant?

Also, does Paul Craddick plan on making another Xen record, and does he have any other projects or bands?

Yes, every member of Enchant at the time accept Ed appears in their usual duties. Here is the only in-depth review I've seen of the album (which I do not own):

i have it..
i'd offer a couple of sample MP3's but i'm not sure if it's legal.. ;)
or you can buy it from me.

Trust me - if you are an ENCHANT fan, you'll like it. There are really some excellent tunes on it like RED LETTER DAY or PRETTYZNTENUF or Find A Way and Ted's singing is just great. You have the chance to get it, don't hesitate. :D

Hi ProgMetalfan,

This cd is definitely a "must have" for all Enchant fans out there! So if you get the chance to buy it, then buy it. Apart from Ted, Doug and Benignus have contributed to this album as well. So it is basically an Enchant record :)

Xen is definitely a must have for Enchant fans. Myself, I consider it the "lost" Enchant album and a song or two from it usually shows up when I make Enchant mixer CD's for my car.

Now, I'd heard some rumor that Paul was working on a second Xen album awhile back. What's up with that? :D What the hell is Craddick up to these days, anyway? I'd hate to see that guy drop out of the music biz altogether; that would be a great loss of talent.

So I received my Xen cd from Germany today.

I opened up the package... cut the plastic from the cd case... opened the case... and there was no CD!!!!!!!!

Doood!

Pardon me but what the fu*k?!
No CD?? Man that's wacky!

What company did you order from?
They'd better get you taken care of........

NP - Missionary Man by CONCEPTION?
SWEET!!! Awesome song..... (and album!) [/B][/QUOTE]

Your are indeed correct Conception ruled, Khan still rules and In your Multitude will always be one of my fave discs!!!!

Oh yeah, man - In Your Multitude is a kickass disc. Under A Mourning Star, Solar Serpent......

I have two KAMELOT discs and as much as I like Khan thanks to Conception, I really feel the band lacks that spark that made Conception so special. The music in Kamelot's songs seems much more 'ordinary' to me and just makes me miss Conception all the more.

I thought I heard a rumor (jeez... had forgotten about this and now I don't know where I heard it) that there was going to be a new disc released with unreleased Conception stuff on it.... man, now I'd kill to know where I heard that........

Hate it when that happens!

Unreleasd stuff, that would be so exciting, the record company may feel they are floggoing a dead horse though.

I feel the same about Kamelot, I am only really into them because of Khan (looking forward to the new album by the way)

Khan is still my fave metal vocalist and I will follow him wherever he goes

My fave track on Multitude is Carnal Comprehension -awesome!!!!

how awesome is the vox in Silent Crying (Parallel Minds) ?

Carnal Comprehension!!:D

Oh man, forgot about that one! That song has the BEST groove..... pretty simple drumline but it kicks so much ass nonetheless!

Thanks to you, I just had to dig out the CD - have it in the player right now! I'll tell ya - I found these guys be SHEER chance. Was on the NOISE website a few years back for another band and was looking through the label band roster. Most of the bands seemed like these hardcore european metal bands..... and happened to check out Conception's page and listened to a few quick samples from FLOW and really liked what I heard. That day, drove to a mall near my job that actually had a music store with a PROG ROCK/METAL section (!!!!!!)

Popped in FLOW on the way back to work and been HOOKED ever since.

Then I found out they'd broken up.......
Of course, right after I get into them and they become a top band in my personal ranking..... oh well. Least I got to see Tore play with ARK live back in 2001 at ProgPower 2 (missed Kamelot's set though). Too bad they didn't get together and do an old tune!

(noticed in one of your posts you mentioned SCARRED by DT talking about fav songs. Are you on the Portnoy forum by chance?)

Nah, not on the Portnoy forum, do other people share my passion for SCARRED? That's great to hear. Awake is still my most played DT album, I think it was Kevin Moore, who brought that beautiful mood of melancholy to most of the songs (e.g. he wrote Space Dye-vest I think) what's your Opinion?

I would love to see just one Prog band live in Australia, you lucky to have seen Ark, we don't get anyone down here!!

I am just stoked that I get to see DEFTONES next week!!

I have been into Prog for years, Conception was one of those great finds, and I just wish they would have continued:(
