and toilet paper and such

could you? would it even be desirable do you think? would you like to decrease your CONSUMPTION? would you feel bad about not contributing to increasing your nation's gdp?

Need smarra and beer. Are we going to rehearse with the 4 seasons 2day?

no... maybe... tomorrow...

smarra and beer is included in necessities btw

I'm not particularly keen to embrace the road to ungrowth single-handedly, but if a strong political gesture was pushed on a global scale (viz. never), I would.
i would never do anything like this for politics, only for my personal wellbeing. politics is a farce and dead end and can never change anything. all i can change, and all that ever matters, is what's inside of me.

I buy clothes on neccesity, food, beer... the odd computer game or CD, but I could go without... Books..

Does travelling count or do we have to walk everywhere, or long distance travelling? what about transit tickets?

i don't know the exact rules of the game, use common sense, it's the spirit that counts

the spirit is get through daily life without making it hard for yourself but don't be a consumer

you wouldn't get to buy computer games or cd's though that's a definite no-no

Yeah, I could.
Relative asceticism kinda makes you value the shit you have around you more.

This would be a tough one for me. Living at home while working full time has afforded me too much disposable income, I've become quite attached to things like fancy beer, food, buying music/video games/movies/books, etc whenever I want.

The problem with libraries: They don't have the books I like, and I live in germany and hate reading english books.

COmputer games / CDs, I'd survive without.

For the most part, that is my consumption summed up. CDs, books, computer games. 2 or 3 hauls per year, not overly much. I spend most of my money on beer, food, friends and travelling

if you include things like beer, coffee, gasoline, drugs and burritos in necessities i'm pretty much already there...except for the occasional record splurge and going to shows. that's a pretty broad definition of necessities though, i don't think gas should count...
