Your 1st Ass kicking rock band...

It better not have been Darkthrone! I will laugh.

I bet it was 'tallica wasn't it!?
No, I didn't hear much of them until I got their records. I only heard stuff from radio, alternative rock... And my first 'rock' record I got was The Killers "Hot Fuss"

Well from what he's told us he hasn't listened to metal for very long. To be fair they're not really an ass kicking rock band, they're good, Hot Fuss was a rather cool debut and they do remind me quite a lot of all the 80's synth bands *reminisces*. But ass kicking? Hmm no...they're pretty average live as well, not bad just not as spectacular as you'd expect.

I was lookin through all my dads vinyls the other day, and hes got those and hes also got the first pressings of Abbey road and Sgt Peppers lonely hearts club, Please,Please Me, and the beatles first E.P all when they were released in Mono...I think he has all of them actually. I was lookin on ebay and these are going for Hundreds, sometimes even thousands..I was shocked.

The 1st metal album I remember playing was "The Ultimate Sin" by Ozzy.
My brothers were huge Maiden, Priest & Ozzy fans when I was growing up. Didn't care for Maiden or Priest as a kid, but Ozzy was really cool.
I stole this tape from them & actually still have it.
This was not one of his better solo albums, but at the time it got me hooked.

The 1st albums ever purchased for me were Master of Puppets & Justice by Metallica.
My mother actually got both of them for me.
I played the shit out of those.
Don't think I still have them.

Man that was a long time ago.

Money for Nothing and Brothers in Arms are great albums, totally commerical 80's Brit-Rock, you simply can't go wrong.

Wasn't Money for Nothing a track off Brothers in Arms... ?

Feels desperately :erk: now, but GnR - Appetite For Destruction was probably the first rock record to kick my arse.

And The Killers? What I mostly remember about them is waiting for them to gtfo the stage at Reading festival last year so that I could see Pixies.
