Your family history

Well, to make a long story short: My ancestors lived in Shanghai, moved to Kazakstan, then Russia where they got all their land stolen during WW 1 by the fucking cossacks (sp?)and then moved to Poland and finally to Sweden....:Smug:

I'm too lazy to write anything now... once I get all the family geneology stuff from my dad's old computer, I'll work on it, since It does have around 17 pages of people...

briefly, I'm half polish from my mom's side, and the farthest I'll go into my dad's side is about one quarter german and another quarter english...

Cool. So you have a bit of Polish blood in you Steve! Then..nazdrowie you old fart! :Spin:

Puh...
I guess my grandfather's somewhere from the area around Danzig. The others in his age... I don't know - somehow nobody wants to talk about things like that, maybe because of the war that made them get away...
My Dad's now living in he Netherlands, one uncle wants to move to Sri Lanka, another ones's from Jamaica and wants to move back to New York someday, some others are living in New England and my boyfriend's from Turkey.

i know that i'm distantly related to a viking on my mom's side, and a Duke or soemthing from Luxembourg is an ancestor of mine. My dad's side of the family is english, and on my mom's side im a little of everything. Polish, english, welsh i think, and alot of other stuff...

my father lived for several years in paris when he was a child, but this doesn't count as my origins :p
well, now seriously:
all my grandparents, both from my mother and my father side are from small villages on the hills just south of this town, though my mother grew up in another region called lombardia (just on the other side of the river, not that far :p).
it was this way for a lot of generations before, i don't know about our ancestors, except that maybe i can have some spanish blood from a woman far away in the past of my father's ancestors.
i don't know anything else, though i'd like to :erk:

I hate most of my relatives, exceptions can be count with my fingers (10 i have)
..My family..
Dad nearlly 50, retired because of mental problems.
Mum nearly 50, burnt out.
Ol´bro 19, graduated with one good grade, uses booze alot, now heading to army next january.
I still like them.
Men of kin uses lot alcholol and that is their doom..
If I sometimes sound like little bit melancholic, it just the atmoshperehe at home.
"yritetty on mutta vituiksi meni"
my father, heikki t.
this is the quothe that I can always breathe out and smile. :)

I am not complaining.. some of people should too participate..but I not naming anyone particular.

The most interesting thing I could think about was my great grandfather, he was one of Porfiro Díaz' (Mexico's most known dictator) most trusted coronels, and he ruled one of the (then) most important cities of the country, he had a reputation for being a ruthless bastard and a ladies man

I'm 100% German, but there isn't anything really interesting about my family. My parents grew up in Queens in New York City. I guess everyone migrated to the US somewhere around my great grandparents' generation.

My mom and her family came here from a small town in Calabria (southern Italy) called Mammola when she was 6. My dad was born here, but his father was from a town in Umbria (northern Italy), which one I can't recall (Todi, maybe?). Basically, I'm a whole lot of Italian.

I'm currently diggin out a paper on my family history I wrote for english, although it isn't very good since my teacher's description of what it shul be was shit...

Here's mine:

-I am 40% Cherokee native
-I am 35-40% Irish (I look the most Irish by far.)
-I am 10-15% Chippewa and I believe Algonquin or Huron.
-The rest is Dutch. I have miniscule amounts of other races but I have no clue what they are.

I have been told that my last name (Cotter) means "Peasent" or "Slave" in some ancient Celtic, Gaelic, Anglo-Saxon, Pict, or any other ancient British Isles language. During the American Civil War (On the European side of my family.), half of my family took sides with the Union and the other half with the Confederacy. During WW2, both of my (Now past away) Grandfathers served in the Pacific theatre. One notable story was when my Grandpa (On my father's side) making his way towards Okinawa (Via ship of course) when the fleet made a stop at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He was asked if he had any idea how to repair radios by a commanding officer. (Since that was his occupation before the war.) Now of course he said yes and was pulled from being an Artilleryman. He now had a job in relative safety repairing radios. Had he not been pulled away from action in one of the bloodiest Marine battles of all time, he would've probably died seeing as an Artilleryman was a prized target and the department suffered heavy casuaulties during the conflict. Welp that's all I could come up with my family tree. That and my Great-Grandfather was a famous author who wrote the novels "Paul Bunyan and the Great Lakes" and several books on the history of the upper peninsula of Michigan. Thanks for reading this.

well my recent family history is rather unimportant, although countless funny episodes are in my head, like the one where my grandfather (a farmer) drove some nazis off his grounds with a pitchfork in WW2 :lol:well actually not-so-lol, for he easily could have been transported to a KZ for that.
but i did some research on older family connections a while ago and it could well be that i'm connected to bloody knights in shiny armor and even a castle. but i don't have that confirmed, it's just that my last name is very uncommon and that would be quite a coincidence.

I'm like part everything. Italian, Irish, German, British, Welsh, Dutch, Hungarian, Native American, French, and half of the rest of Europe. According to my uncle, I'm partially Viking, but I'm not sure how he knows that. And supposedly I had ancestors that traveled with William the Conqueror. I read online that my last name, French, is Irish. Kind of ironic.

There is some Cherokee or other Indian blood in me ;). Centuries ago my ancestors (of my mother's side) came apparently from North America to this beautiful country, Finland.
