Yeah, the Feral House thing. I am supposed to receive a copy soon. I am very much into grind. Is Gore Beyond Necropsy still active to your knowledge? I have not heard from them in a long time.

Are you familiar with D-River? Awesome japanese stuff.

GBN is still active and recently did something with razorback records.

i've heard a few d-river mp3s and was never really impressed by them, but i should probably give them a revisit. at some point.

Woohoo! P-T-M are awesomely funny.

Like most people here finding it incredibly hard to pick absolute faves, I'm just gonna go with what's really turning me on these days:

Boris
Tarantula Hawk
Merzbow
Sunn o))) (man are they ever getting popular!)
Earth
Melechesh
Boredoms

And some un-dethroneable tops:

NoMeansNo
Melvins
Lou Reed

Well I am a big fan of Brutal Truth and somehow D-River fit right alongside them in the grand scheme of things, hence the fact that I like them.

I'll check out Razorback Recs right away..

Well, I like pretty much everything but at different levels. I know they hated Need to Control but that was my first BT album and what got me into grind so it has a special place even though it might be their weakest. I love Sounds of the Animal Kingdom for the way they were able to take it to new levels. Machine Parts is probably my favorite recording they ever did. I have spent major dollars getting most fo the discography, including that stupid 5 vinyls Need to Control Special Edition... I am still missing a couple of early 7"

I found it especially difficult to enjoy Khanate, to the point that their debut cd, which I bought for 20 euros now is used as a coaster. And the new one I know there's no point to listen to since people that loved the first one complain about how it's too disjointed etc

MS, i started with 'extreme conditions...' and kind of skipped out for a while after that. i found myself exploring them again after hearing the 'postulate' track on the old 'all's quiet on the eastern front' comp. i like them garage-y and raw, best, and i think that would be my fave BT endeavor.

the live stuff on the 2xCD retrospective was good.

ever get to see them play? the one time i did was in front of 15 or so people. d.lilker was attacking his own bass with the mic stand. i wish the sound was better at the venue.

any thoughts on T.F.D.?

Khanate are interesting as a band that's doing something unorthodox. In a "haha you thought we were going to play coherently, didn't you!" But I paid 20 euros and I guess I was expecting music for my money. Just like people that go crazy over Merzbow and rant about how this is the most extreme (ugh) music ever. I just hear machine noise and FM static. I guess for me to appreciate the extremity I need to put it into some sort of context, so the effect is juxtaposed.

avi: if you ever see Khanate, do tell us if they play their songs as close to how they are on the record. Because that would be pretty cool and difficult.

I saw them twice. Once in a church basement in Quebec city, it was awwesome to chat with Lilker that couldn't believe he was in a Church. Both times were following Sounds.. and not more than 70 were there. Both shows were awesome, Rich Hoak is inhuman and Kevin Sharp had a much larger presence than his height :)

I love what I have heard of T.F.D. , both demos were pretty awesome, I haven't listened to them in a while though.

Heard Venomous Concept? I got it last week, and it seemed pretty good on the first listen. I love Kevin Sharpe's voice. Have you heard the record he did with Damaged?
