Your favorite mic for clean vocals?

I can't beleive people like the 4040! I've used them for years and always thought they were monumentally average!

If you're on a budget the SM7b would be the perfect one. That is still considered to be a high-end microphone. Instead of buy a soso mic that you want to replace as soon as you got the cash

AT 4050 user here. sounds great. electrovoice RE 20 is great, too. the source (as always) has a much greater influence on the sound.
a lot of people are getting very good results with a sm 57/58 as well......
