Dillinger Escape Plan.
All the lyrics in Gold teeth on a bum.

Soilwork - Structure Divine
Beware the millions of senses locked in this rusty cage, a frenetic rage. (SO GROOVY)

I've always liked "Brainstorm" by Morbid Angel. They're not the deepest lyrics out there, but I love to growl along with it. Particularly the "They* Speak My Name In Toooooooooongues!" part.:headbang: It just fits the song perfectly.

(*Even though that's an example of using the mysterious "They" in a song...)

Rush has the greatest lyrics of all time (IMO)!

Rush - Subdivisions
"Growing up it all seems so one-sided, Opinions all provided"

Rush - Mystic Rhythms
"Primitive things stir the hearts of everyone"

Rush - Chain Lightning
"Hope is epidemic, Optimism spreads
Bitterness breeds irritation, Ignorance breeds imitation"

Rush - Anagram
"Reasoning is partly insane, Image just an eyeless game"

...and many more

Dream Theater - Wait for Sleep
She shuts the doors and lights and lays her body on the bed, her images and words are running deep

Kevin Moore is a genius..

Got it baaaaad soooo baaaaad I'm hot for teacher

DLR is absolutely priceless..

Rush has the greatest lyrics of all time (IMO)!

... and Rush untouchable.

I'd like to add:

"It's always funny until someone gets hurt... And then it's just hilarious!" (FNM - Ricochet, but originally a Bill Hicks quote)

"Just a rhyme without a reason" (yeah, you know that one)

"Auschwitz, the meaning of pain, the way that I want you to die. Slow death, immense decay, showers that cleanse you of your life" (the most vicious, insulting and discomforting lines ever put on a record)

"Original Americans, turned into second class citizens" (Anthrax - Indians)

"I played the jester perfectly when misery delivered me" (Warrel Dane - Your Chosen Misery)

"There is no stronger drug than reality" (Nevermore - Seed Awakening AND Noumenon)

"He'll back the car over grandma, then dissect her cat" (S.O.D. - Sargent "D" And The S.O.D.)

"Walls of thought - strong and high" (AIC - Sea Of Sorrow)

"In the darkest hole you'd be well advised, not to plan my funeral before the body dies" (AIC- Grind)

"I'm here to put the dick in Dixie and the cunt back in Country" (Hank III - Dick in Dixie)

Dream Theater - Wait for Sleep
She shuts the doors and lights and lays her body on the bed, her images and words are running deep

Metallica - Damage Inc
"Fuck it all and fucking no regrets"

Mr Bungle - Retrovertigo
"Now I'm finding truth is a ruin
Nauseous end that nobody is pursuing
Staring into glassy eyes
Mesmerized"

The whole "Damnation and a Day" album by Cradle of Filth is a lyrical masterpiece, also songwriting-wise, and production-wise, and pretty one of my favorite albums ever.

Megadeth - Holy Wars... the Punishment Due

Fill the cracks in with judicial granite
because I don't say it, don't mean I ain't thinking it
Next thing you know, they'll take my thoughts away
And I know what I said, now I must scream of the overdose
and the lack of mercy killings

Nevermore

DT hasnt been the same since he left :(

Oh ya the delivery on that one line in that song is CRAZY!

Shit I forgot one other one!
Warrel Dane - Brother
If I could play god do you know what I'd do?
I'd swim through your blood and kill the cancer in you

The entire song has such an amazing delivery I actually cry every time I hear it. Not to mention its about as auto biographical as it gets in my life as well... But when I see the video and he delivered that line right before the solo the look on his face was so ...... god I cant even describe it. It just sends chills down my spine every time I hear it!

I dare anyone to watch that video and watch his face at the 1:59 mark and not feel every word that he says!

YEESSSS! I love Vincent's vocals on that song!

Hatebreed - Perseverance

Origin - The aftermath (these fit so well with the song its ridiculous)

Cryptopsy - Slit Your Guts

"Permit me to introduce you to
"Tuesday"...
I favor her, this pretty blade
So tall and fine;
Hatred and violence are not
Our ways, but firm we are;
Squirming is useless, so is this
Colon, cry for me."

D.R.I - Beneath the wheel

"Go! Don't be late
first one out of the starting gate
run! Be on time
First one to cross the finish line"

S.O.D - Milk

"I woke up, can't wait to eat
Got my cereal, boy was I beat
Opened the fridge, and to my dismay
There was no milk, my mother will pay "

and the whole of Suicidal Tendencies - Institutionalized

The whole "Damnation and a Day" album by Cradle of Filth is a lyrical masterpiece, also songwriting-wise, and production-wise, and pretty one of my favorite albums ever.

+1 Best Cradle album by far.. I was not impressed by too much of what they did since, they've set their bar VERY high after that one...

"So he pushed her down the stairs...to die,
NO! she cried.
In 1777...on the 7th day of July"

"I am alive, inside your wife.
Miriam's dead, I am her head!"

King Diamond FTW!!! :D
