Mine would have to be a solo I tracked a few years ago that just came out and I just totally fell in love with it. Whilst my technique and theoretical knowledge has improved heaps since then (I'd only been playing 2.5yrs at the time) I have struggled to come up with anything that I felt hit me as hard.

Can be a solo, beat, fill, riff, scream... Just something you're really proud of.

Anyways, here's mine from a song of the first album I did, kindly put on YouTube by some desmond. Solo starts around 3:20

really nice dude for only have played for 2.5 years. The solo is not really my liking but it shows your skills!

This is the fuckin shit!! Love it.

Oh yeah and here is my contribution. I always loved my metal riffs more than my solos but one of my favourite is the first solo in this video:

Also the one at 2:48 is pretty sweet.

Nice machinated.

GG, while I also enjoyed your first solo by far the most, I really dug your style and the note choices you go for. Really nice approach, hear a bit of akerfeldt in there.

the first song in the player-Ripping the head of her corpse.
Production sucks (these are the first "real" tracks I recorded) pretty hard, but I just
love all the riffs, only vocals and some parts in the end are from me, but I really dig it.

And I really liked one scream I did in on of the songs, but we never recorded it, it was just
one really long (18 seconds or something like that) scream that went into a pretty deep growl.

Edit: I wrote the riff in the song Lay Down Rotten that starts around 3:00, still digging it and
I think I should just use it again for one of my songs :D

For me its not a metal song. I did a guest spot on a friends CD and played a solo on one of his songs. Nothing really "shreddy" just tried to be tasteful and it so happened to be what I think is probably the strongest solo I have ever written. Solo kicks in at about 2:30. It just really FITS I think, works well with the rhythm section and theirs some cool counterpoint lines.

Its a demo i did in '09 to capture an idea for a song I had. Its not perfect, but it served its purposed...which was to be a song idea until I was able to record a real studio album. The time is now to complete all my song ideas and start tracking for my first ever real solo record. which is just for me. im not recording it to sell or get noticed or anything. just so i have studio versions of crap ive written over the years that havent been used for any bands.

Generally, if I don't like a part, I remove it from the song during the composition/early demo phase. But of course there's always a part I like more than usual. Many of these are on the latest album, but prior to that, here's some from Vortech songs:

Apoapsis Mentis (the last choir part sounds so chilling)
Sycophant Gods (the second riff grooves like a moose with a very nice drive)
Evolutionary Project (the synth arpeggio in the chorus really sounds like music to my ears, hehe)
Their Contract (when the first riff comes in the second time, the ridiculous speed of the song really hits like a hammer!)
Impulse (the lead black metal arpeggio is why I love playing the song, so evil with a slight tribute to one of my fav games on the NES)
Biodroid Legions (the slight breakdown just before the last chorus hits full speed is just delicious live!)
Destined to Fall (the chorus is so cheesily melodic, complete with choirs, simply unresistable ;) )
The New Creations (the second riff with the supersaw lead synth backing is as industrial as it gets and defines why I like the genre)
Transcendence (the song starts off so groovily!)
Shedding the Flesh (so fast, so fun, and the choirs near the end just make it explode to grandeur!)

I'm always a little bleh about hearing my own stuff back. But I can say that about 80% of the stuff on our upcoming album is something to be sincerely proud of and I do enjoy listening back to the songs which is great :) So when I have stuff to submit, I'll resurrect this thread haha
