The first album that I actually spent my own money on, thus what I would define as an early favorite of mine, would be Rush "Moving Pictures" in 1981 (I was 13 or so) - I loved "Tom Sawyer" the first time I heard it and used my allowance and road my bike down to the local record shop and bought a 12" vinyl copy of it - I wore that sucker out. Prior to that I had just listened to what was on the radio at the time and there was nothing in particular that I would call a favorite - and Rush has stuck with me as probably my all time favorite band. Sentimental value sways me heavily when it comes to Rush.

Whenever my wife asks me to do something for her I'll usually say "no" 1st to which she'll say "why not?" to which I then always say:

"You're just not terribly important to me"

or if she asks where I'm going:

"I have to return some video tapes"

BTW, she LOVES that movie too so she gets the joke
