Your friends/family members opinions on Damnation

my dad hasnt heard it but i told him it was prog rock and said 'give me a copy and ill listen'. noone else has heard it.

and yeh i think i was probably the only death metal fan in my entire school.

My dad is awesome about my music, he doesn't like it but he appreciates it as long as the band has talent. So he's OK with Opeth, but when I played Harvest he really liked it. His words exactly "This is where they show that they can sing."

I have three cube mates in my office and I normally listen to my cd's with headphones on. I played Damnation at a pretty decent volume on thursday and each one of them asked me at different times who I was listening to and seemed pretty interested. These are people that would normally listen to popular music so I thought that was pretty cool.

Most thought it was cool... my housemate really liked it though. He enjoyed their show a couple months ago as well.

I was playing it at work when one of our distributors, a 55 year old British man, came to do his thing. He really dug it. I showed him some other Opeth stuff too, but mainly the softer stuff (I doubt the children who shop in our toystore would really like the heavier stuff ) and he is now buying some for his son because it was something he could really get into

my mother has already liked the quiet opeth stuff, so i think she is very pleased to hear some more quiet songs from my room

all my brothers and sisters and above all my dad are intolerant of my music....

but my girlfriend could like it very much....she likes the quiet old opeth songs....i have to play it for her...
