Mesa Slant. Very smooth sound, and very recording friendly.

My Exact thoughts too! Best all around cab I've ever recorded. Suits all styles. It's hard NOT to get a decent tone with this cab and a sm57 . I like those basic Marshall 1960A cabs too, because they're also kinda "safe".
