Katatonia - Night is the New day (words cant describe enough... the soundscape is massive and so distant)
Devin Townsend Project - Ki (metal/jazz/elvis/groove and beautiful atmosphere all around)
Devin Townsend Project - Addicted (the party album of the year!)
Viikate - Kuu kaakon yllä (A whole new level of melancholy that can only be drawn from the Finns and their folklore)

Also Teitanblood is caught in one of those very close races for 10th so it could be interchangeable with Katharsis or Stabat Mater or something else. Ulcerate could get sucked into that too.

Blood Red Throne. Damn Tchort for not making more interesting music like he used to. This is probably all good for those who like the genre. I don't think any less of this kind of music, I just hoped he would smack a band together and make something Green Carnationish again.
Btw. I'll post in this thread when I get the new Katatonia album...if it EVER shows up. Beginning to really feel mocked by the post office now..not god, post office!

Insomnium - Across the Dark ---- I only listened it through a couple of times sounded great but haven't listened anymore than that
Devin Townsend project thingies ---- Ki was great but haven't listened it after summer and I got Addicted but I havent had time to listen for that either
P.S. Is it really necessary to make a thread for every little thing that pops up the head since for example this thread could have been discussed on the 2009 music -thread and the Departer thread could have been said in some of the (couple actually) NitND -threads and yeah.

It was released here on Feb 26th 2009. Only the people who shelled out for the deluxe edition got it at the end of 08. The rest of the world got it in 09, therefore I'm counting it.

I agree, I loved their first 2, very atmospheric. But this long, Dream theatrical instrumentals don't do it for me...
