Your top six albums

I agree that The Mantle is the best album to be released from America, but I extend it to "ever." The rest of his list is shit though, despite SIT and Burzum's s/t being good.

Agalloch is waaaaaaaaaay overrated, that album isn't that metal, there are far better metal albums to be released from America (ie. Morbid Angel, Death just o start with), that album is kinda boring, a desolation song is kinda lame, there are only 5 proper 'songs' on that album, Agalloch is kind of a joke band, this metal has no balls, you suck

Never mind that The Mantle is barely even a metal album, have you people who think it is America's best ever listened to anything from the 80s or earlier? So many great, great albums!

I find Morbid Angel and Death waaaaaaaay overrated, so it is a matter of opinion to the extreme. Atmosphere will always beat out riffs and technicality.

...unless both elements are synthesized masterfully (as shown in albums like Unquestionable Presence and Close to a World Below)

Yes, that is always a case that transcends the rule.

Evoken's Antithesis of Light and diSEMBOWELMENT's Transcendence Into The Peripheral are perfect examples of it as well.
